SELECTED RESULTS - 04/27

The Ministry of Science and Technology was the stage for the judging of InovapolPublic Safety Innovation Contest. The event took place in a hybrid format and had most of the judging panel online. The opening ceremony had the distinguished participation of the first Brazilian to go into space. Our astronaut and also minister was the highlight of the event: "I challenge my team to structure a program to create technological centers of public security," encouraged Marcos Pontes.



The panel was directed by Innovation Secretary Paulo Alvim and Professor Antônio Isidro. Also were also Thomas Strauss and Bruno Bandeira da MajorTomthe organizing company, and criminal expert Fabio Braga, president of the FPCIAA. In the evaluation of the selected ideas 20 specialists participated in the evaluation of the selected ideas, including police officers, experts, professors from UnB and UFG, analysts from Softexanalysts, members of two accelerators (Cotidiano and HandsOn), a partner from Cedro Venture Capital and 2 coordinators of the Foundation for Research Support in the DF - FAP/DF.



The 21 registered initiatives came from all over the country and were concentrated in 3 main macro themes: systems, biometrics and artificial intelligence. But there were also entries in very specific areas such as forensic chemistry solutions, hybrid simulator, among others. The projects were evaluated according to the 7 requirements defined in the call for participation. We selected the 10 initiatives with the best overall score and that meet the requirements necessary for effective participation in the next stages - notably being in the appropriate development phase. After the trial, the selected ideas will be tested by professionals from the DF Civil Police. Those that pass the technical evaluation will be eligible to receive grants that can reach up to 1 million reais and may participate in living lab in the Civil Police of the Federal District a unique opportunity to testing in a real environment in the national public security and with the Brazilian champion team of crime solving.. The resource comes from funding institutions that support Inovapolsuch as Softex e Embrapii and are for enhancing initiatives in technological centers of excellence.

Ohe participants will receive via email their individual evaluation forms and those who, regardless of having passed to the next phases, aroused interest in one of the institutions participating in Inovapol will be notified of these opportunities.
